Foster-Gardner provides water savings, environmentally friendly turf alternative at Bagdouma Park
Coachella, California (November 18, 2013) – The City of Coachella is taking a leading role in environmentally friendly landscape management. Bagdouma Park, located in the City of Coachella, will implement the latest water saving and environmentally friendly cool season turf alternatives.
The park is to use a more innovative approach for their winter turf maintenance preparing with a new liquid over-seeding technology. These organic turf colorants, called liquid overseed by turf experts, are environmentally safe and a proven alternative to the scalping and turf renovating over-seed practices common in the Coachella Valley.
The net benefits are water savings, fertilizer cost savings, seed cost elimination and a quick transition to usable turf.
This liquid overseed being applied is a Naples, Fla.-based Geoponics product. The leading brand for its natural-looking and lasting results, Endurant turf colorant, is a proven product used in the South Eastern U.S. for years. Endurant TC was recently introduced by Foster-Gardner, Inc. to the Coachella Valley region.
Endurant TC has provided a huge cost savings to users, saving an average $940 per acre, not including the money saved through water conservation. Water management and conservation are increasingly important and the City of Coachella, along with Foster-Gardner and Geoponics Corporation are taking a lead in finding new ways to protect the critical natural resources of the earth.
The application of Endurant TC is tentatively scheduled at Bagdouma Park, 51711 Douma St., Coachella, Calif., 10 a.m. Thursday. The project will offer a brilliant visual with before and after photographs of the application available.
